A Delta baggage worker got a bit of a fright before Halloween when she opened a jetliner’s cargo door and found a cheetah running loose amid the luggage.

Two cheetahs were being flown in the cargo area of a Boeing 757 passenger flight from Portland, Ore., to Atlanta on Thursday when one escaped from its cage.

NEWS: FAA certifies craft for Rocket Racing League exhibitions

The Rocket Racing League has received an experimental exhibition certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration that will allow it to fly its first rocket-powered aircraft in demonstration shows at 20 venues nationwide.

The rocket was built with a Velocity Aircraft airframe. It is equipped with liquid oxygen and alcohol engines that were manufactured by Armadillo Aerospace in Texas.

News: Gulfstream Demonstrates Fly-by-wireless Aircraft Control System

SAVANNAH, GA – Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, has successfully demonstrated aircraft control using “Fly-By-Wireless” technology. This historic flight, which took place on Sept. 18, is the first known application of wireless signaling for a primary flight-control surface in a civilian or military aircraft.

Update: Spanair crash

A failure in the cockpit alert system contributed to the crash of a Spanair jet at Madrid Airport last month which killed 154 people, El Pais newspaper reported on Tuesday, citing preliminary investigation results.

Machinists Union at Boeing Says It Will Strike

NEWS: Terror for 300 passengers

Two jets carrying 288 passengers collided on the runway of one of Britain’s busiest airports yesterday.

The ‘rear-end’ smash at Manchester Airport caused at least £4million of damage.

It ripped a 4ft slice of a wing tip off one of the planes and wrecked the rear tailplane of the other.
